To correctly use implied odds you are creating the opportunity to give your own set of chips a boost by beating your opponent without them seeing it coming. Remember, very experienced players who hold out for a great hand won’t help your implied odds, rather you want players who are a bit more loose with their strategy for implied odds to work more effectively.
Certain hands can work well with implied odds, especially if your starting hand is a small pocket pair and suited connectors since they are disguised if you are lucky enough to hit a flush, set, or a straight on the flop.
